2026 5th International Conference on Energy, Power and Electrical Technology (ICEPET 2026) concluded successfully in Hangzhou!
From April 24 to 26, 2026, the 5th International Conference on Energy, Power and Electrical Technology (ICEPET 2026) was successfully held in Hangzhou. The conference was jointly sponsored by Hangzhou Dianzi University and IEEE, organized by the School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University, and Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and supported by the School of Electrical Engineering, Xinjiang University, IEEE PES Hangzhou Chapter,Academic Exchange Information Center (AEIC).

PART 01 Opening Ceremony and Plenary Speeches
On the morning of April 25, the conference officially kicked off. The opening ceremony was chaired by Prof. PingliangZeng, conference chair and professor at Hangzhou Dianzi University. Vice Dean Ping Luo of the School of Automation, Hangzhou Dianzi University delivered the opening remarks, extending a warm welcome to the experts and scholars in attendance. The conference was especially honored to welcome Prof. Josep M. Guerrero, IEEE Fellow and professor at Huanjiang Laboratory, Zhejiang University, to the opening ceremony.

PART 03 Spcial Sessions
On the afternoon of April 25, the conference held two special sessions, focusing respectively on New Energy Grid Integration and Power
System Stability Control and Coordinated Operation and Optimal Control of
Distribution and Microgrids. Participating scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics.
Session 1: New Energy Grid Integration and Power System Stability Control
This session was chaired by Professor Jianmin Zhan from Hangzhou Dianzi University. Professor Youhua Jiang from Shanghai University of Electric Power introduced a new mechanism for coordinated multi-harmonic shared governance in distribution networks, improving the efficiency of harmonic mitigation resource allocation through power mutual-support coordination. FengZhang , a senior engineer at State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power and IET Fellow, shared an innovative business model pathway empowered by virtual power plants, as well as a three-level coordinated architecture for zero-carbon parks involving the “main grid–distribution grid–microgrid/feeder area”.

Session 2: Coordinated Operation and Optimal Control of Distribution and Microgrids
This session was chaired by AssociateProfessor Chenxi Wu from Hangzhou Dianzi University. Professor Yaolin Lou from Zhejiang University of Water Resources and Electric Power presented a coordinated control strategy for synchronous condensers and SVGs in wind farms based on adaptive reactive power/voltage modes, enabling steady-state reactive power regulation and transient voltage support, and significantly improving fault ride-through capability. Associate Professor Jia Liu from Hangzhou Dianzi University also explained a distributed flexible planning method for new energy transmission and distribution systems under wide-area spatiotemporal coupled uncertainties. By adopting two strategies—stochastic programming and robust programming—along with a distributed optimization algorithm, the method improves planning economy and the accommodation capacity of renewable energy.

In addition, young scholars from Shandong University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Southeast University, Civil Aviation University of China, Zhejiang Gongshang University, and the Energy Development Research Institute of China Southern Power Grid, among other institutions, delivered excellent young scholar presentations, demonstrating strong research foundations and innovative potential.
PART 03 Award Ceremony and Closing Ceremony
An award ceremony was also held during the conference. After rigorous evaluation by the organizing committee experts, the conference selected the Best Student Paper Award, Best Paper Award, Best Poster Award, and Best Oral Presentation Award to recognize young scholars who demonstrated excellence in academic innovation and engineering application.
